Week 3

Thursday i started a new book called the choice by nicholas sparks. It's about Travis who is a vet his neighbor Gabby. Her dog is pregnant. She thinks his dog got hers pregnant. She came over ranting to him. He was as nice as could be and told her to take her to the vet. She was so embarrassed of herself. The next day she went to the vet to see Travis there. Gabby vowed not to talk to him for quite some time. Until her dog had complications during labor. After, Travis asked Gabby to coffee. Gabby has a boyfriend of 4 years who continuously puts off the idea of their marriage. Travis flirts with her, and she deep down in her heart likes it. One afternoon they go with his friends to the beach. They end up pairasailing and having a cookout. Later on Travis invites Gabby over for dinner, and they kiss! She is shocked, but secretly happy. Gabby ends up having to choose between Travis and her boyfriend. Next part of the book talks about Travis wishing his marriage ends this way sounding like a divorice. But actually they got into an accident, and Gabby is in a coma. The author tells us that they built their dreamhouse on the peice of land that Travis owned where they lived very happily with their children. Travis has to decide to pull the plug or keep her alive. They have 2 kids who miss their mom terribly. Gabby wanted to die not kept on a feeding tube (because Gabby had watched a man at the hospital suffer and eventually resent his wife who was in a come. Gabby didn't want that to happen between her and Travis), but Travis couldn't do it. His friends helped him alot with the girls, but when they tried to comfort him he got angry. They eventually stopped coming around to visit him. He visited his wife every day and slowly went back to work. One day he got a call from Gabby's nurse "she's awake!" he was overjoyed. This book talks about how far we will go for love. Travis went to the ends of the earth for Gabby. This book touched me, and I cried like a baby. I read this book in 6.5 hours. My total time now is 13 hours. Tomorrow Joey is bringing me the book At First Sight by Nicholas Sparks.

Finished The Shack.

I read the rest of the shack in a half an hour. Mack had to choose to stay at the shack with God or go home to be with his family. He knew how horrified his family would be so he decided to go back home to be with his family and to help them be healed from the tragedy. On Mack's way home drom the shack, he got into a car accident. He told his wife about his weekend; she thinks it's partly from the pain medication he's on. But in the end she forgave him. Total Time 6.5 hours

Week 2

Read 3 1/2 hours. This book relates to my life that in the death of a loved one i question why God let this happen to me as did Mack in the shack.Total time:4
Mack's daughter by abducted on a camping trip and was brutally killed at the shack. 3 years later Mack was invited there by God who tries to help his doubts
God is a big black lady. Jesus is an Arab, and the Spirit is a clumsy lady. They try to teach him that God always loves him and watches over him. He still is lost.
I've read 2 more hours total time of 6 hours. Mack becomes very close to Jesus and feels that he can relate the most to him unlike the others. They go on a hike together, and they walk on water. They go to a cave where Mack is able to see his daughter Missy playing with his other children. He is so happy to be so close to her he cries. Mack learns that it was all Papa's idea to let him see her. God tries to teach Mack that life is all about relationships and loving each other unselfishly as God loves. Mack visits a woman named Sophia who allows him to be a judge or God. He learns that he has self justification and should leave judging to God. Soon it will be time for Mack to return back home to his family and real life. He hopes that he can manage to still trust and love God through his daily life. He will have to tell his wife the truth where he has been and what all happened. He hopes that Nan will be able to forgive him.

The Shack.

I've read 30 minutes of the book The Shack.
It's written by William Paul Young. The story so far is about a man named Mack who lives in Oregon; it's the middle of winter, and he has to go get the mail. He receives a letter from his dad who was a drunk when he grew up. The letter invited him back to the shack to spend time with his papa. He had left his parents' home at the age of 14. He later married Nan, and they had a few children together. Mack will soon encounter the Great Sadness. I haven't read what it's about yet, but according to the back of the book it's about his daughter being abducted while on vacation to the shack.
Total Reading Time: 30 minutes.

My first Blog!

My goal for this project is to continue reading for the 3 months not just to get a good grade, but also for my personal gain intelectually. I usually don't read much because I never have the time so hopefully this will keep me reading. I will try to read everyday after practice not on game days and on Sunday nights. Hopefully I will get my book from my Grandma Sunday after church so the I will start reading.
